Remember what Bilbo used to say...

" It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to."

Our 1st trip to Kowloon

We decided to take the Star Ferry over to Kowloon, the Star Ferry also being a first for us. I will talk about the ferry another time. Right now I will write about our first experience in Kowloon.

Kowloon is different... it has its own life separate from Hong Kong.
Former Kowloon-Canton Railway Clock Tower, Tsim Sha Tsui
It was a great adventure. We walked off the the ferry into men wanting to sell us watched to suits. It was not anything to alarming, We just walked pass them.  What was our plan? Having a kid helps when it comes to planning... we scope out places to eat, parks and then museums. We ate at the Spaghetti House. Food down, now we need to find the a park. We found Kowloon Park (it really wasn't that difficult to find) and what did we find at the park...Kung Fu fighting and Lion dance performance.

 Preparing for the Lion dance

The Kung Fu and the lion dance lasted for about 2 hours. When it ended we left with the crowd and decided to head home. I started thinking what a cool thing to take our friends and family when they come to visit. I decided to look it up on the Internet to see if this was a one time thing or recurring performance. Guess what....
"The Kung Fu Corner is set up every Sunday from 2:30pm to 4:30 pm at the Sculpture Walk of the Park. Free demonstration of lion/dragon dance and different disciplines of martial arts will be staged and play-in sessions will be organised for visitors."

Highly recommend taking an afternoon and visit Kung Fu corner!!
